Hotel Options
Special assembly rates have been negotiated with two hotels in
Reading: The Abraham Lincoln, a Wyndham Historic Hotel in
downtown Reading, and the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Wyomissing. In
both cases, individuals wishing to stay need to call the hotel directly
to make reservations and to provide a credit card to hold the
reservation.
 The
Abraham Lincoln Hotel is located at 100 N. Fifth Street,
Reading. It is within walking distance of the Sovereign Center Arena
where the assembly sessions will be held. The per-night room rate is
$104 for a standard room (1 king, 1 queen, or 2 double beds), $114 for
an executive suite (1 king or 1 queen bed and a full-size sofa bed),
$124 for a 2-room suite (2 double beds and a full-size pull-out sofa
bed), and $134 for a Jacuzzi suite (1 queen bed and a full-size pull-out
sofa bed). These prices do not include applicable room taxes of 11%.
Reservations can be made by calling 610-372-3700 any time prior to
May 15, 2012. To get the special assembly rate, mention the
Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod group block. The cut-off date for
making reservations at the reduced rate is May 15, 2012.
 The
Crowne Plaza
Reading Hotel is located at 1741 Paper Mill Road in Wyomissing.
It is only a few miles from the arena. The per-night room rates are as
follows:
- A room with two double beds is $92.00 plus taxes
- A room with a king bed is $92.00 plus taxes
- A King Tower room is $119.00 plus taxes
These rates apply regardless of whether there are one, two, three, or
four people in the room. To get the special group rate, mention the
Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod Assembly rate. Call 1-877-354-1011
to make your reservation. The cut-off date for reservations at the
Crowne Plaza is May 31, 2012.

Birds of a Feather Focus
Groups
One
of the best ways to learn to do something well is by talking to other
people who know how to do it. As part of our ministry of connecting with
and supporting the congregations of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod,
the Connection Building Ministry Team invites you to join us for a Birds of a
Feather session on Friday, June 15, 7:00-7:45 p.m. If one of the
following groups describes you, we invite you to flock together to meet
one another and talk with us about how we can learn, communicate and
collaborate:
- Council presidents
- Stewardship leaders
- Evangelism leaders
- People involved with the Do What Matters emphasis
- Musicians
- Webmasters
- Youth ministry leaders
- People interested in mission trips
