Keynote Speaker
The Rev. Dr. David Lose holds the Marbury Anderson Chair in Biblical
Preaching and serves as the Director of the Center for Biblical
Preaching at Luther Seminary. Author of Making Sense of Scripture,
Making Sense of the Christian Faith, and Making Sense of the
Cross, David writes for the
Huffington Post,
Patheos, and
WorkingPreacher.org, which he helped create. You can find his Bible
devotions and reflections on connecting faith to daily life at “…In the
Meantime” (www.davidlose.net).
David speaks throughout the US and abroad on preaching, leadership,
Christian faith in a postmodern world, and biblical interpretation.
ELCA Representative
The
ELCA representative to our assembly will be the Rev. Dr. Mark N.
Wilhelm, Program Director for Schools in the Congregational and
Synodical Mission Unit of the churchwide organization. As program
director for schools, he is responsible for relationships among ELCA
early childhood centers, elementary and secondary schools, college and
universities, and aspects of seminary oversight, the Book of Faith
Initiative, and certain other lifelong learning ministries. Prior to
joining the churchwide staff in 2000, Mark was associate director of the
Center for the Study of Theological Education at Auburn Theological
Seminary in New York City. He holds a BA from St. Olaf College, an MDiv
from Luther Seminary, and a PhD from Union Theological Seminary. Top of page
