Join Lutherans from across Pennsylvania for a day of worship, learning, advocacy and action. This year's event will lift up the ELCA Strategic Direction to "step forward as a public church that witnesses boldly to God's love for all that God has created."

The event will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Hill. The Rev. Andrew Genszler, Director for Advocacy and the Washington Office for the ELCA, will address the topic, Discipleship and Citizen Action.

May 18, 2013, Bike for World Hunger

The NEPS Bike for World Hunger raises money for the ELCA World Hunger Appeal. It’s also a great opportunity to join with other people of faith for a day of fun and fellowship.

You can ride a bike, walk, run, or rollerblade on the tracks at the Bob Rodale Fitness and Cycling Park in Trexlertown. By getting sponsors, you raise money to send to the ELCA World Hunger Appeal.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.; the event begins at 9.

May 19, 2013, Worship: Freedom and Flexibility

A workshop for pastors, musicians, worship committee members, all who plan worship, and all who have an interest in worship; 3-7 p.m., the Lutheran Center.

This workshop will explore what is at the core of worship: the essentials, the central elements, that which makes Christian worship, worship, and what it means to exercise our freedom and flexibility in small ways and perhaps in more daring ways.

Registration is $20 and includes the cost of the presentation and supper. Holy Communion, featuring some of the patterns, techniques, and suggestions of the presentation, will conclude the workshop.
