Youth, Young Adult and Family Ministry Team

We will strengthen the work being done with children, youth and families to support ministries as they engage their communities.

This strategic direction is assigned to the Youth, Young Adult and Family Ministry Team.

Mission Statement: Our team will build and support ministry with children, youth, young adults and families in the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod communities (church, mission district, synod).

Objectives: We will—

• Develop ways to share ideas and resources for children, youth, young adult, families and congregations including the use of social networking sites, blogs and the synod website; [Inspire, Inform]
• Plan events to equip children, youth, young adults and families to grow in faith; [Inspire]
• Provide training events for the purpose of building and supporting ministry with children, youth, young adults and families; [Instruct, Inspire]
• Provide financial support for young people to participate in synod, regional, or Churchwide events/programs; and, [Invest]
• Publicize faith growth activities sponsored by other groups such as the region, seminaries and the ELCA. [Inform]

This new ministry team is being developed by Karen Matthias-Long and others involved in youth, young adult, and family ministries. As information about team members and activities become available, it will be posted on this page.
